Craigslist to thank for bringing the talented Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian together. Simonian posted an ad to Craigslist
offering his production services to other artists, and Merchant stumbled upon the ad and promptly replied. The two formed
an immediate bond over their love of music, and before they knew it they were writing jingles together. For three fruitful
years, this dynamic duo wrote and composed jingles for numerous advertising campaigns and commercials. It wasn't too long
before they realized they could bring their musical talents into something more creatively fulfilling, so Capital Cities was
In 2011, the duo released their self-titled debut EP, which started generating buzz amongst the indie world. Just
a year later, Capital Cities signed a record deal with Capitol Records, and Simonian and Merchant got to work on tracks for
their debut album. In 2013, the duo released their full-length album, In a Tidal Wave of Mystery, which spawned their major
charting hit, "Safe and Sound". The album's success was also due to singles like "I Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo" and "Kangaroo
Court". Following the incredible success of their debut album, Capital Cities embarked on their very first major tour, where
