Carbon Leaf Background
Leaf's current lineup consists of Barry Privett, Terry Clark, Jason Neal, Jon Markel, and Carter Gravatt. The group first
came together in 1992 at Randolph-Macon College in Virginia, where they started practicing at the school's auditorium. It
wasn't long before the band was performing at various college mixers and frat parties, honing their skills every time they
stepped out on stage. Eventually, the band graduated from backyard parties to major clubs, performing all along the East Coast
before they knew it. While they continued to perform at cool venues throughout the country, Carbon Leaf got to work on their
first album, Meander, which they released in 1995. Their first few albums spawned a handful of popular songs, such as "Country
Monkee", "Flood", "Wolftrap and Fireflies", and "American Tale", yet it was their 2001 album that really helped launch them
into the indie rock spotlight.
In 2001, Carbon Leaf released Echo Echo, which earned the band their first American Music
Award. The biggest hit from the album, "The Boxer", made its way onto countless radio stations and was even featured in Pontiac
Vibe commercials. After this massive success, Carbon Leaf's popularity continued to snowball. In 2004, Carbon Leaf signed
with Vanguard Records, and experienced several years of phenomenal success. They have performed with acts like Jason Mraz,
Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, Great Big Sea, Matt Nathanson, The Avett Brothers, and O.A.R. Although Carbon Leaf split
with their record label and have returned to being an indie band, they continue to churn out some phenomenal music that has
piqued the interest of countless music fans around the world. There is no denying the fact that Carbon Leaf is a serious force
in the indie rock world, which is why you should jump at this opportunity to see them perform live in concert! Grab your tickets
