Located on Craghead St. in Danville, Virginia, the Carrington Place is an outdoor amphitheatre and concert space that can
accommodate crowds of upwards of 7,000 people. Get some Carrington Pavilion tickets
for seats under the covered overhand, or throw a blanket out on the lawn for you and your honey as you listen to the music
and watch the night sky.
The current amphitheatre at Carrington Pavillion was formerly used as a train station depot and rail yard back in the 1800s.
The city of Danville bought the property in the late 1970s for the purpose of putting together a public park and a place for
concerts. The first event here was called the World Tobacco Auctioneering Championship, which is the reason it was called
Auctioneer's Park for most of its time in business. The maximum capacity in the seats is a little over 1,180, and approximately
5,000 more can be seated on the lawn.
Before you get tickets, you ought to check out the Carrington Pavilion seating
chart. If you are getting seats under the overhang, then they will be reserved. Otherwise, you'll be getting general admission
tickets for the large grass area. Either way, you're in for an excellent show and some good times.
