CeCe Winans was born in Detroit as one of ten children and there was never a lack of music in her house. Winans began singing in a gospel duo with her brother BeBe and the both of them proved to be very successful together. Winans and her brother continued to be a duo until 1987. Winans then went on to release her first solo album Alone in His Presence in 1995 and got her solo career off to a good start.
