2014 Central Florida Knights Football Schedule

Florida is a state that is practically crazy for football, and on game day at Central Florida in Orlando this becomes perfectly clear. UCF made quite a splash during their first season in the American Athletic Conference, going a perfect 8-0 in conference play in 2013. The Central Florida Knights are ready to take to the football field to do battle with some of the best teams in the nation this season and are well aware that they will have a target on their backs as defending conference champions. The Knights are ready to take on any team that step into the field at Bright House Networks Stadium, and there are plenty of quality opponents that will do just that in 2014. Fans are gearing up for the biggest match ups of the season so they can pack the stands and cheer on the Knights in person as the team vies for a victory.

Central Florida is also taking part in one of the most exciting football games of the season when they take on Penn State at a neutral field in Dublin, Ireland, kicking off the season in style on Aug. 30. Fans of college football will all have their eyes trained on this game and a win could get the season started off in just the right way. A huge home game on the UCF Knights' schedule is when the BYU Cougars come to Bright House Networks Stadium on Oct. 11, though other top-tier matchups like Central Florida-Temple (Oct. 25) and Central Florida-Tulsa (Nov. 14) will also bring plenty of fans to the stands. Don't forget about the road matchups either, as seeing the Knights on the road is another great way to see your favorite team do their thing. When the game is on the line and the Knights are digging in this season, you'll definitely be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else.

Central Florida Knights Team Info

The Central Florida Knights football program is a team that plays in Division I of the NCAA ranks. 2014 is the second season that the Knights will be participating in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). The Knights are hoping to back up their undefeated conference play in 2013 with yet another big season, and they should have what it takes from a talent standpoint to make that happen. The Knights will have to replace quarterback Blake Bortles, who left for the NFL Draft, but the Knight have some major talent looking to step up and keep the offense clicking. Big time recruits like safety Kyle Gibson should be able to contribute right from the start to help keep the Knights' train rolling.

And spring football gave their fans plenty of reasons to think the Knights will be making a move up the AAC this season. Fans were energized by seeing back William Stanback appear in top form during the spring, showing that he's the type of big play threat that the Knights will be looking to utilize all season long. Wideout J.J. Worton also looked very good in the spring and pass-rusher Thomas Niles is another dominant player who can change the dynamic of a big game in a hurry on the defensive end, giving the Knights some major balance as they go up against some of the toughest teams in college football this season. With a team that can do a little bit of everything, fans are expecting to some unbelievable, nail-biting action all year long.
