Charles Koch Arena History
Charles Koch arena is a multi-purpose arena located on the Wichita State University
campus in Wichita, KS. The arena is home to the Wichita State Shockers men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the
women's volleyball program. This arena was originally built in 1953 and named University of Wichita Fieldhouse and soon after
received the nickname The Roundhouse, a colloquial moniker that is still used today. The venue was renamed Levitt Arena in
1969 after a local businessman that had sponsored Wichita State athletics and has recently pass away. The arena underwent
a major renovation in the early 2000s, and was renamed Charles Koch arena when Charles Koch contributed $6 million to the
renovation project. The biggest attraction at Charles Koch arena is most definitely the Wichita State Shockers men's basketball
team, as the Shockers play all of their home contests there.
