Chastain Park Amphitheatre History
Chastain Park Amphitheatre first opened back in 1968. The amphitheater was originally
used for "Theater Under the Stars," which was a summer series of Broadway style productions that featured a big star, but

Chastain Park Amphitheatre is an outdoor concert venue located
in the heart of Chastain Park, the biggest city park in all of Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is one of the busiest and largest
metropolitan areas in the United States and as such there is always plenty to do in the city. It boasts the sixth largest
economy of any city in the United States and the 15th in the world. In 1996 Atlanta hosted the Summer Olympics and the city

Chastain Park Amphitheatre Seating Layout
Chastain Park Amphitheatre has seating for around 6,900 guests with
some lawn seating, but mostly reserved seating. Most of the venue's events take place during the warmer months because there
are almost no covered seats in the amphitheater. During most concerts you will have the option to spread out on the grass
and find your own spot and the venue even has lawn chairs available for rent during the concert, or you can choose to pay
extra for reserved seats closer to the stage. Either way you are in for a treat when you attend a concert at Chastain Park
Who is Chastain Park named after?
The answer is Troy Green Chastain, who was
a member of the Fulton County Commission from 1938 through 1942.
