The Bears in the Playoffs

The Chicago Bears have looked strong this season and are looking to make some serious noise if they can reach the playoffs. This is a talented team with a host of offensive weapons that the team uses to burn opposing defenses. Running back Matt Forte is the backbone of this Chicago offense, as this versatile running back sets the tempo and sets the table for the passing game. Forte is having himself one of his best seasons as a pro, showing that he's not only a reliable runner on the ground but also a threat in the receiving game. The Bears also boast two of the best wide receivers in football. Brandon Marshall has been terrorizing defenses in the National Football League for years now, and his rapport with quarterback Jay Cutler is simply amazing, as the two were teammates previously in Denver and put together some nice seasons there as well. However, second-year receiver Alshon Jeffery has emerged as a dynamic playmaker this season as well, posting two 200-yard games. With Marshall and Jeffery, defenses don't know which side of the field to focus on when it comes to the Chicago passing attack.

The Bears are a proud franchise that has not been able to win a Super Bowl in quite some time, so any tie this team gets to the playoffs the fans are ready for a deep run. This Bears team certainly looks to have an offense that is explosive and could carry them to the conference title game and perhaps the Super Bowl. If the Bears were able to make it happen his season, it would be pandemonium in the Windy City.

The Team

The Chicago Bears have had a 2013 season that certainly hasn't gone to plan, but they've made due with some significant adjustments along the way. An injury sidelined starting quarterback Jay Cutler for multiple games, but the offense didn't seem to miss a beat thanks to the fantastic play of backup QB Josh McCown. The Bears already knew they had a special wide receiver in Brandon Marshall coming into the season, but the emergence of Alshon Jeffery opposite Marshall has been quite the story this season. With these two dynamic playmakers in the passing game, the Bears have put up some big scoring totals this season. The Chicago defense has not been a great unit, but the offense is good enough to pick up most of the slack. If the Chicago defense can bend and not break, it may be enough to get the Bears deep into the postseason.

The Experience

When the playoffs come around, Bears fans always get amped up for the game. The parking lots at Soldier Field are sure to be filled with Chicago Bears if the Bears are good enough to earn a home playoff game. There's definitely a contagious atmosphere to an NFL game, and that's even more the case when it comes to the postseason. The stadium is filled with an electric energy that the home team looks to feed off of, giving them an advantage against their formidable foes. The postseason is the most exciting time of the year in the National Football League, and that's something that you can experience for yourself when you head out to a playoff game.

Bears Trivia

During which season did the Chicago Bears win their one and only Super Bowl title?

The answer is 1985, when the Bears had one of the best defenses to ever play the game of football. The team lost only a single game in the regular season that year on their way to earning the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Bears History

The Chicago Bears were founded in 1919 and moved to the Windy City of Chicago in 1921. The Bears found success early in the franchise's existence, winning several NFL Championships in the pre-merger National Football League, including four titles in the 1940s alone. This team won the Super Bowl in 1985 with one of the best defenses in the history of football, led by renowned head coach Mike Ditka, a team that lives on in Chicago Bears lore.

The Bears have made 25 playoff appearances over the course of their history, winning their division title on 18 occasions. The Bears have won the NFC North division crown three times, most recently in 2010. The Bears have reached the Super Bowl twice, the last time occurring in 2006.
