The Chicago Bears - Schedule in 2014

One look at this roster and you'll know that the Bears are for real. Jay Cutler has the rocket arm and he leads an explosive team that has the skill and depth to make a real run at taking a Lombardi Trophy home. Sure, you could see a glimpse of the game from home, or that crowded bar down the street, but it's a completely different experience to actually be there with thousands of Bears fans when the game is on the line. Just take a peek at the schedule and you'll see that there are plenty of amazing matchups that you know you'll want to be a part of, as the Bears are definitely not going to go quietly in the always ultra-competitive NFC North. In addition to hosting the Vikings, the Lions and their arch-rival the Green Bay Packers this fall, the Bears will also square off with the Saints and Cowboys this fall.

But even though home games at Soldier Field are an absolute must, road games can be every bit as exhilarating, which is why it's always a good idea to head out and get in the middle of the excitement as the Bears look to pile up the wins in another intense season of football. With explosive playmakers like Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall lighting up secondaries and some big-time talent on the defensive side of the ball as well, there has never been a better time to get on board and see this exciting team do their thing this year.

The Team

In just his second season in the NFL, Alshon Jeffery showed that he was definitely not still learning the ropes, as he tore up defenses all season long to the tune of 1,421 yards and seven touchdowns. Not only did he become a hero to fantasy football owners all over the world, but he showed that the Bears are no longer a team that has to rely solely on defense. Toss in Brandon Marshall and suddenly the Bears have arguably the best one-two receiving punch in the league, as Marshall is still playing at a superstar-level. On defense, the Bears also have some big-time playmakers as well, giving them the type of balance that makes them one of the toughest teams to beat in the NFC from season to season, and we haven't even gotten to Matt Forget yet, one of the most consistently dominant backs in the league in recent seasons. The Bears may have missed the playoffs by the thinnest of margins last season, but anyone can see that they are definitely on the rise and close to title contention after a successful debut by coach Mark Trestman.

The Experience

The NFL has plenty of great games on the schedule each and every season, from plenty of top-tier regular season matchups and playoff games to the Pro Bowl and, of course, the Super Bowl. These are some of the best athletes in the entire world, though that's something that you need to see for yourself to truly appreciate. Will you be there when your favorite player hauls in the clutch, game-winning catch that is headed straight for the highlight reels? There's nothing like being in the stands when the game is on the line, so ditch the couch, brush off the potato chips and get ready to see a game you won't soon forget.

Bears Trivia

During the Chicago Bears' 1985 Super Bowl-winning season, only one team was able to best the Monsters of the Midway that year. Which team was it?

The only team that was able to defeat the Bears in 1985 was the Miami Dolphins, led by a young quarterback by the name of Dan Marino. The loss was a major disappointment for Bears fans that thought an undefeated season was within reach, and oddly enough the 1972 Miami Dolphins remain the sole team to go undefeated for an entire season and postseason in the history of the National Football League. That year, the Bears still pulled it together and made a memorable run at the Super Bowl title, providing a benchmark season that Bears fans are still talking about to this day.

Bears History

The Chicago Bears franchise was formed in Decatur, Illinois all the way back in 1919 before moving to Chi-Town two years later. The Bears found success early on, winning more than a handful of NFL Championships in the pre-merger National Football League, including four in the 1940s alone. This team won the Super Bowl in 1985 with one of the best defenses in the history of football, led by renowned head coach Mike Ditka and playmakers like Mike Singletary and William "The Fridge Perry."

The Bears have also won the NFC North division three times and always seem to be in the hunt for the division title. Chicago has called Soldier Field home since 1971, making the venue a staple when it comes to the Bears organization. The Monsters of the Midway have one of the best rivalries in the NFL in their annual matchups with the Green Bay Packers, games that any football fan would want to be a part of.

Bears Fans

Soldier Field is one of the most famous stadiums around, but that's something that you'll have to see for yourself to truly appreciate. Be in the stands for all of the heart-pounding moments as the Bears square up with some of the toughest teams in the league in another season loaded with unbelievable matchups. Bears fans are renowned for being as passionate as any other fan base you'll find anywhere, making the atmosphere of a big game spring to a whole different level that you're never going to be able to duplicate from home.
