Chicago (The Musical) Denver Author
Many people aren't aware, but Chicago The Musical is
loosely based on the 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins. Watkins was a reporter in the 1920s in Chicago and noticed that
she had developed quite the list of run-ins with various shady characters throughout the world of crime. She decided to put
these characters together into a story for the stage, and thus, the original iteration of Chicago was formed. Though her characters
were based on real women (Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner), the modern interpretations of the play have smoothed out any of
the rough edges that were left over from the original. Don't miss out on this opportunity to take in some great theater! Get
