Chicago White Sox Team Info

The Chicago White Sox play in the American League Central division of Major League Baseball, a division that also features the Minnesota Twins, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers. Though the competition is always steep, this is also a division that has a reputation for being wide open, and you never know which team is going to come out of nowhere to challenge for the title. The White Sox definitely are one of those teams you have to keep an eye on thanks to their core of young talent, with superstar-in-the-making Jose Abreu coming off of an unreal rookie season that has energized the fan base. You also can't forget about hurler Chris Sale, one of the top pitchers in the American League and the type of guy who can lock up any lineup in baseball. Put it together with some great players throughout the rest of the roster as well and you'll see why the White Sox fans see a bright future ahead of them.

The MLB Experience

When two talented ball clubs take to the diamond for an exciting matchup, there is only one place to be, and it definitely isn't sitting on your couch squinting at that disappointing flatscreen. Baseball has been around for well over a century, giving it enough time to gain the reputation as one of the most popular sports in the entire world. But even though baseball is now played at a high level all over the world, Major League Baseball is still the premier league for a reason, and it isn't because there is a lack of talent on the diamond. Get out and see a great game loaded with memorable moments that you have to see first-hand to truly appreciate, as this is a game with an intensity level that simply can't be duplicated.

Chicago White Sox History

The Chicago White Sox franchise was founded in in 1894, when it was known the Sioux City Cornhuskers. The following season the team moved to St. Paul, MN and changed their name to the Saints. But after a few years in St. Paul the team moved to Chicago, where they were known as the Chicago White Stocking until 1901, when they were renamed the White Sox. The organization has won three World Series titles, the most recent coming in 2005. Over the years, they've also had plenty of all-time greats, including Shoeless Joe Jackson, Frank Thomas, Ed Walsh, Bobby Thigpen and many more. Thanks to a promising young team that can do all types of damage if they get rolling, it's a great time to be a part of the White Sox faithful.
