Chimaira is a heavy metal band from Cleveland, Ohio that formed in 1998 with singer Mark Hunter, guitarists Matt DeVries and Rob Arnold, bassist Jim LaMarca, drummer Andols Herrick and electric specialist Chris Spicuzza. Their self released debut sold 10,000 copies and led to an appearance on the USA Network show Farmclub followed by opening spots for other metal groups. After a brief hiatus in 2003 the group returned in 2006 with a new album and continues to support their sound with the annual holiday event Chimaira Christmas 9.
