Chris Cagle picked up the guitar when he was just six years old after his family moved from Louisiana to Houston. Though
he attempted to pursue education after high school, starting at the University of Texas at Arlington, music was in his blood
and he dropped out of school not but a year later. After struggling in Nashville for five years he earned a publishing deal
and eventually a recording contract with Virgin Records. His first album appeared in July 2000, titled Play It Loud, and
was reissued in 2001 when he switched to Capitol Records.
Country musician Chris Cagle initially struggled in Nashville’s music business, but once he caught the attention
of some Virgin Records executives while working at a restaurant he was immediately caught in the center of country superstardom.
After his first album debuted he saw Top 40 success with his single “My Love Goes On and On” followed by “Laredo.”
