Country musician Chris Young was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and got attention in the music industry not only because of his family’s influence (his grandfather was Louisiana Hayride performer Richard Yates) but also thanks to appearance on Nashville Star in 2006. Though Young had been performing in and around Nashville since he was a teen, and even had a debut album out before high school graduation, 2006’s television appearance and his single “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” finally put him on the country music map.
