The Cincinnati Bengals - Schedule in 2014

The Bengals are known for having plenty of top-tier matchups each and every season, from division rivals within the AFC North and out-of-conference games that always have fans all over town talking. Rivalries against teams like the Ravens, the Steelers and the Browns always pack in the fans by the tens of thousands, as the Bengals have developed serious rivalries that always have a good mix of fans from both teams to help take the atmosphere to the next level. This is a team that is clearly on the rise in the AFC North thanks to a talented core group of playmakers who can do a little bit of everything, guaranteeing an exciting brand of football that you'll want to see up close and personal to truly appreciate. This season, the Bengals will also welcome the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers.

But you just don't want to make the mistake of thinking that there are only home games to get to, as road matchups can be every bit as exciting. There is nothing quite like being there when the game is on the line and the Bengals are digging in looking to put the final touches on a huge win, as you'll end up with an experience that is simply second to none. Once you're there in the stands watching alongside all of the passionate Bengals fans, you'll be glad that you're not sitting at home wondering what the big game is like.

The Experience

Obviously things have changed quite a bit since the days of Roman chariot racing, but there are still some big-time spectator sports that routinely turn out fans by the tens of thousands. Ditch the couch and get out to the stands for a game loaded with Pro Bowl-level players that know how to put on a show. The NFL is the most popularity sports league in the country for a reason, and it definitely isn't because there is a lack of excitement from game to game and season to season as the Bengals look to make their move up the AFC North standings.

The Team

Don't look now, but the Bengals have suddenly become a perennial playoff team. They made the postseason again last season only to suffer a tough loss to the Chargers. That won't stop them from taking the next step at some point. The Cincinnati Bengals are never exactly lacking in explosive playmakers, making it always a good idea to get out and see for yourself how quickly they can change the dynamic of a big game. Of course, you need a signal caller to have much of a shot at a title in the NFL, and the Bengals are glad to have one of the best in Andy Dalton, who has been steadily rising up the ranks in recent seasons and giving fans plenty of hope for this franchise's very bright future.

But the Bengals aren't only a strong team because of their quarterback, as A.J. Green is establishing himself as one of the very best receivers in the entire NFL. Defensively, the Bengals also have a reputation for having one of the staunchest defensive fronts in the league and some big-time talent in their linebacker and secondary corps, providing the type of balance you need to take it to the next level – the formula that the Seattle Seahawks used to get all the way to the top of the league. With a promising core group of talent and some major playmakers on both sides of the ball, this is a team you definitely don't want to miss out on this season.

Bengals Trivia

Did you know that three different Hall of Famers represented the Bengals?

From Paul Brown and Charlie Joiner to Anthony Munoz, the Bengals have had plenty of different great players come through their roster, making the Bengals a staple of the local sports scene in the process. These days, the Bengals are in another exciting era and fans are daydreaming about watching their team take down that coveted Super Bowl title, providing plenty of incentive to head out and see them up close and personal this season.

The History

The first Cincinnati Bengals team was formed in 1937 with the American Football League, but the folding of the first AFL led to the Bengals joining other leagues until shutting down before the start of World War II. The Bengals started up again in 1967 and have had some memorable seasons since then, though these days fans are clamoring because they can see the writing on the wall, mainly that the Bengals are a team that has a very bright future ahead of them.

The Fans

Bengals' fans definitely know a thing or two about showing their support for the hometown team, though that's something that you have to see for yourself to truly appreciate. We all know that you can get an idea of what the game is like from home, sort of, but it's a completely different experience to actually feel the pulse of the crowd as the Bengals dig in looking to make one more big play to seal the deal. Hope springs eternal in Cincinnati, and you'll be glad that you're not still sitting at home when you could be right in the thick of the bone-jarring excitement this season.
