Cirque Du Soleil's Alegria is named after the Spanish word for "joy." What better title could there be? This astounding
performance piece allows viewers to watch as acrobats twist themselves into knots and perform gravity-defying feats, all to
the delight of audiences. Make sure you get your Cirque
Du Soleil Alegria tickets today.
Cirque Du Soleil was first founded in 1984 by Guy Laliberte, an energetic dreamer who combined a flair for surreal performance
art with a love for European-style circus acts. Franco Dragone, however, was the writer and director responsible for Alegria,
which has developed into one of Cirque Du Soleil's most popular shows. Come see his creation when the production opens in
Toledo.
Everywhere that Cirque Du Soleil goes, you can see their blue- and yellow-striped tents popping up. These grand chapiteaus,
as they're known, are icons of the performance troupe. But when the show comes to Toledo, they will be inhabiting the Huntington Center. Opened in 2009, it's one of
Toledo's biggest venues, with room for close to 10,000 people.
