City and Colour Schedule
The man behind the music of City and Colour is singer/songwriter Dallas Green. Green had
been playing guitar since he was just eight years old. He has been penning songs since he was a teenager. He took the stage
name of City and Colour in 2005. Frequently joined by a rotating cast of musicians on stage, like Spencer Burton and Daniel
Romano, City and Colour was chosen by Green as his alias simply because he felt uncomfortable "putting the album out under
the name Dallas Green." Green is known for his authentic brand of folk and acoustic music that fans just can't get enough

City and Colour Background
Like many other musicians in today's computer age, Dallas
Green, a.k.a. City and Colour, started posting his tunes on the Internet to give his fans access to his music. Later on, he
took those songs and refreshed them to develop his debut album, Sometimes. The album dropped in late fall of 2005 and was
welcomed warmly. Of his first effort, he said: "A lot of those songs are written on some of the experiences I've been through
and stuff and that's just how I deal with it. I just write songs when I'm bummed out and I feel happier." The album was eventually
re-issued under the Vagrant Records label. His sophomore effort, Bring Me Your Love, arrived in early 2008. On this album,
he shifted to using a diverse group of instruments like the lap steel, harmonica, drums and banjo, adding a folk flavor to
the album. For the album, he also collaborated with other artists like Tragically Hip's Gordon Downie. City and Colour road
tested Bring Me Your Love, backing Tegan and Sara as well as Girl in a Coma. A year later in 2009, City and Colour headlined
a tour that crisscrossed the nation joined by William Elliott Whitmore. Little Hell arrived in 2011 followed by The Hurry
and the Harm in 2013. The latter album was the first album he cut outside of Canada. For the effort, he headed to Nashville,
Tennessee, and stepped into the Blackbird Studios. "I've never gone anywhere else to make a record. I think it worked out,
and it was a wonderful experience," he said. Of the album, he said, "Lyrically, now that I look back at the record as a whole,
there are a lot of songs that deal with me searching for something. And I know that I wrote those songs near the end of Alexisonfire."
(Alexisonfire was a post-hardcore band he belonged to as a guitarist and vocalist.) These days, City and Colour continues
to work on original material, touring whenever he can.
