A soul singer with a lot of heart and no eye sight, Clarence Carter has impressed audiences for years, improving his style
and attitude with the times. Constantly competing with the obstacles that surrounded him, Carter has overcome tremendous
feats to become a favorite Ichiban, Fame and Duke recording artist, making his concert tickets
hard to come by.
Born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1936, Clarence Carter was born blind. Attending blind schools from the start, he had to
overcome serious adversaries not only as a blind student but as a black one attempting to get into college. After graduating
with a BS in music he signed with Duke Records along with friend Calvin Scott and from there his professional musical career
erupted.
A long time musician who really knows his stuff, Clarence Carter has been making headlines for years since signing with
friend Calvin Scott to his first solo record with Fame, where he earned 25 cents, deemed "Tell Daddy All About It."
