Clemson Tigers Schedule in 2013-14
The Clemson Tigers are back with another talented team that is sure to give
fans plenty to cheer about this season, as top-tier college basketball in the ACC is something to behold, as this is the very
best conference in the country, and it definitely isn't because there is a lack of excitement from game to game and season
to season. With another highly skilled team loaded with rim-rocking playmakers who can do a little bit of everything, the
Tigers have their eyes on moving quickly up the conference standings once again this season. Once you're there in the stands
soaking up the vibes of a great game, you'll be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else. We know the pros are great to
watch too, but there's something extra special about watching players when it's only team pride on the line, and as soon as
you get out to a big Clemson Tigers game, you'll definitely figure out what all the excitement about this program is about.
Tigers have a big game coming their way on March 4th when the Miami Hurricanes head north to South Carolina. The Hurricanes
will be looking to blow the Tigers off the court, but Clemson won't go down without a fight. The Tigers definitely have the
talent required to take down a quality opponent like Miami, but they're going to have to execute efficiently on the offensive
end of the court and buckle down on defense. This should be a fantastic contest between two conference rivals that will be
looking to secure a big win down the stretch of the 2013-14 season, and you can be there in the stands to see all of the action
Clemson will finish out their home schedule on March 8th when they host the Pitt Panthers. The Panthers always
have a hard-nosed team that is willing to do all the little things that win college basketball games, making them a difficult
matchup for any squad that takes the floor against them. The Tigers will look to play disciplined basketball, because they
know that is what they'll see from the Panthers. Winning the final home game of the season is always something that the Tigers
want to accomplish, and it could make all the difference in the conference standings as well.
Thanks to some amazing runs through the Tournament and nearly a dozen different appearances in the Big Dance,
you can count on Clemson to have a great team that is always looking to make a move up the conference standings. It doesn't
help that they have to go up against Duke, North Carolina and Syracuse routinely, not to mention plenty of other top-tier
programs, but looking at their history will point to a steady stream of big wins that have helped solidify them as icons of
the local sports scene around Clemson, South Carolina.
Clemson Tigers Trivia
Did you know that the Clemson
Tigers have made it to the Sweet Sixteen on three different occasions?
Though the Tigers tend to have some great players
from year to year, it really came together for them in 1980, 1990 and again in 1997, when this program went through the first
two rounds and made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen. There has never been a better time to come out and see if they have
what it takes to get right back to the Big Dance and potentially the latter rounds, as this is a team that definitely isn't
going to go quietly in the ultra-competitive ACC.
Great Players for the Clemson Tigers
A basketball program
doesn't find the kind of success that the Clemson Tigers have without seeing some truly great players come through the program.
The Tigers have seen some incredible athletes hit the floor in the name of Clemson, perhaps none more heralded than Larry
Nance. Nance put together an impressive collegiate career for the Tigers before moving on to play on the pro level in the
National Basketball Association. Nance would average 17 points and eight rebounds during his pro career, leaving his mark
on the NBA as a very good player. Other notable Clemson players to move on to the NBA include Horace Grant, Elden Campbell
and Dale Davis.
Clemson Tigers Fan Traditions
Littlejohn Coliseum is usually absolutely filled to the
brim with excited fans come game-time, and that's a tradition that isn't likely to end any time in the near future. If you've
never been out to the Coliseum for a big game, you have absolutely no idea what you've been missing, as there is nothing quite
like being in the stands when the game is on the line and the clock is dwindling late in the fourth quarter. This is a college
basketball team that has a national following for a reason, and you'll see that with some clarity if you head out to join
in the heart-pounding excitement first-hand.
