Cleveland Browns Schedule in 2014

The Cleveland Browns are ready to take to the gridiron in 2014 with the hope of moving up the standings. The team is prepared to host some of the best teams in the league this season, and some huge victories at home could be exactly what this team needs to catapult them to the next level. Cleveland has a bevy of young players ready to make their mark on the National Football League, and fans will pack into FirstEnergy Stadium to see this team in person.

The Browns have a big game coming their way on September 14th when the New Orleans Saints come to town. The Browns and Saints don't have a long history of matching up, so it will be a great opportunity for fans to catch Saints signal caller Drew Brees in action. If the Browns' defense can hold up, Cleveland should have a chance to get a huge victory here.

Later in the season the Browns will face a huge matchup on December 14th. This is the final home game of the season, and the Browns will face the Cincinnati Bengals in what could be one of the biggest contests of the season. The Bengals are the reigning champions in the AFC North, and the Browns know you've got to beat the best to be the best.

Cleveland Browns Team Info

The Cleveland Browns had been looking forward to the 2014 NFL Draft ever since the Trent Richardson trade, and the team really made some waves one draft day came around. The Browns had the fourth overall pick in the draft, but they traded down to the eight spot in the first round in order to accumulate more draft picks and used their first selection to nab cornerback Justin Gilbert. Corner was a big need for Cleveland, and now they have a solid young player to play opposite star defensive back Joe Haden. However, it was the Browns' second pick in the first round that really made waves. Cleveland moved up a few spots with this pick, up to number 22, and selected quarterback Johnny Manziel. Manziel was the most polarizing figure in this year's draft, and some though the team might take him with their first pick in the draft. Manziel is a Heisman Trophy winner that is simply electric on the field, and Cleveland thinks they got a star quarterback by selecting him. Fans are extremely excited to see what he can do on the field this season.

The Browns continue to make changes with their team, and they have been rebuilding recently and suddenly their roster looks packed with players on the rise, making this one of the teams to look out for in the AFC North. Browns fans knew early on that Josh Gordon was something special, though no one really expected him to burst onto the scene with one of the best rookie seasons in the history of the NFL for a receiver – and that's all in just 14 total games. With some exciting playmakers and another team that can do a little bit of everything, this is a team that definitely won't be held down for long, providing plenty of reasons for fans to daydream about watching the Browns get back to the playoffs in another exciting era of football.

Fan Experience

The National Football League is the cream of the crop when it comes to sports in the United States of America. All pro sports leagues aspire to be as successful as the NFL because the league is incredibly popular with people from all over the nation. The NFL boasts some of the top athletes on the entire planet, giving fans the chance to see these amazing players showcase their skills on the football field on a weekly basis. When you're there in the stands you'll be in awe of what these athletes are capable of doing on the field, and that is what keeps the fans coming back each and every season. There is nothing better than seeing one of your favorite players take it into the end zone late in the game and hearing the roar of the home crowd engulf the stadium. Make sure to get out to see the Cleveland Browns this season as they take on some of the best opponents that the NFL has to offer.

Browns Trivia

Where did Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel attend college?

The answer is Texas A&M, where he won the Heisman Trophy during his first season as the starter for the Aggies. The Browns are hoping that Manziel's dynamic style of play will translate to the National Football League and catapult them to the top of the standings.

Cleveland Browns History

The Cleveland Browns were founded in 1945 as a member of the All-America Football Conference. Ownership originally wanted to call the team the Panthers, but in a very unique situation in the history of football ended up settling on naming the team after the organization's first head coach, Paul Brown. The Browns were nearly unstoppable during their first several seasons of existence and entered the NFL in 1950, a season in which they won the NFL Championship. The franchise added three more NFL titles before the NFL-AFL merger in 1970, the last of which came in 1964.

The Browns have yet to win a Super Bowl and have been on the bad luck side of some memorable postseason moments, the most famous of which came at the hands of Hall-of-Fame quarterback John Elway and the Denver Broncos in a game that has become known as "The Drive" among NFL fans and historians. But even though the Browns haven't made the playoffs since 2002, they have another talented squad and fans know that it's just a matter of time before they get right back there.

Cleveland Browns Fans

FirstEnergy Stadium is a great venue to see a game featuring your favorite team, but don't take our word for it. Come out to the stands and you'll actually be a part of the action in a way that you simply can't from home, no matter how big your high-def TV is. Put down the remote, brush off the potato chips and see the big game the way it was meant to be seen as Browns fans storm the stands this season hoping to get a glimpse of a talented team on the rise in the AFC.
