The Cleveland Cavaliers - Schedule in 2013-14

The Cleveland Cavaliers are ready to hit the hardwood at home this season to take on some of the top teams that call the Eastern Conference home. The Cavaliers are a team stocked with young talent, and that has many fans in Cleveland excited about what is to come for this organization. It all starts with point guard Kyrie Irving, who was the first overall pick in the NBA Draft a few years back and has blossomed into one of the most dynamic offensive players in the National Basketball Association. Irving will look to take on a leadership role on this young team in the hopes of leading them to the postseason for the first time since LeBron James left town. The Cavs call the Central Division home, and the division also houses some tough teams that the Cavs are going to have to face many times throughout the 2013-14 season. There are a lot of difficult games awaiting Cleveland on their home schedule this season, but this squad won't back down from anyone no matter who they are. With a defensive-minded head coach in Mike Brown calling the shots, the Cavs could be a formidable foe for just about any other team in the league this season. Fans are sure to hit the stands at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavs will certainly have any games with the Indiana Pacers circled on their calendar this season, as the Pacers are the favorite to win the Central Division title this season. Indiana finished atop the standings last season and were able to reach the Eastern Conference Finals before falling to the eventual NBA Champion Miami Heat. The Pacers will hit the court in Cleveland led by budding superstar Paul George, a talented forward that has a high ceiling of potential. If George can be slowed down, though, the Pacers are a much easier team to defeat. However, guys like David West and George Hill will be ready to pick up any slack if George is stifled, which makes this team such a tough win. The Pacers love to bring it on the defensive end and are not afraid to get in your face, and that's something that could rattle a young team like the Cavs if they're not prepared for the intensity they'll experience on the court. It may take some big games from Irving this season, but the Cavs will be looking to steal some victories from the Pacers and, in turn, announce their presence as a playoff contender in the conference. Some wins against Indiana could serve as the confidence booster that any young team needs.

Another club that the Cavaliers will be looking forward to hosting is the Miami Heat. When current Heat star LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers it broke many fans' hearts. However, Cleveland has moved on and they want to make King James pay every time he steps into Quicken Loans Arena wearing a Heat uniform. James is still one of the best players in the league, though, so stopping him is much easier said than done. Fans will show up in a big way for this matchup, and the atmosphere in the building will probably mimic of a playoff contest. If the Cavs can send LeBron and company heading back to South Beach with a loss, it will be pandemonium in Quicken Loans Arena that any hoops fan would want to be a part of.

The Team

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a professional basketball organization that is a member of the National Basketball Association. The Cavaliers call the Central Division of the Eastern Conference home, and often find themselves matched up with division rivals like the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks. The Cavaliers landed the number one pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and selected forward Anthony Bennett, adding this versatile offensive threat to a stable already stocked with quality young talent. The team relies heavily on point guard Kyrie Irving, who is one of the most talented offensive guards in the NBA. Irving star has shone bright since he entered the league, but team success has eluded him and the Cavs. Fans are hoping that will change this season, and a midseason trade for forward Luol Deng has certainly signaled that the organization is thinking playoffs. The Cavs will look to use Deng to help lead this young bunch into the postseason.

The Experience

When it comes to the National Basketball League, the best way to take in a game is right your seat right there in the arena. Once tip-off rolls around the crowd will have reached a level of anticipation that is contagious, and you'll find yourself at the edge of your seat, ready to see some top-rate hoops action. These athletes will wow you with what they're capable of on the basketball court, and the only way to really experience it all is to be there in person.

Where did current Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving attend college?

The answer is Duke University, where the point guard played one injury-plagued season under the famous Coach K.
