The Columbus Clippers are ready to set sail this season and take on all of the best teams in AAA baseball. The Clippers are the AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and boast one of the most talented rosters in the minors. Columbus Clippers History

The Clippers franchise was formed in 1977, originally the AAA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1979 their affiliation changed to the New York Yankees, and remained there until the 2006 when the Clippers became affiliates of the Washington Nationals. In 2008 the team became affiliated with the Cleveland Indiana. The Clippers enjoyed a run of success in the 1990's, appearing in the Governors' Cup, the championship of the International League, five times. Alumni of the club include such household names as Derek Jeter, Don Mattingly, Mariano Rivera, and Andy Pettitte. This is one of the elite franchises in the minor league system. The Clippers have one of the richest history of any minor league baseball team, and they boast one of the best fan bases in AAA baseball.
