Columbus Crew Schedule in 2014

The Columbus Crew are ready to stick together this season as they take to the field to face some of the best teams in Major League Soccer. The Crew look to have some real potential to put together an impressive season in 2014 if things go well for this squad. Columbus calls the Eastern Conference home, and while the team was unable to reach the postseason in 2013, hope springs anew this season. The Crew have played solid soccer thus far in 2014, but need to elevate their game a bit to ensure that they earn a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. There are plenty of tough teams in the East this season, and the Crew know that is going to take their full effort every time they hit the field in 2014.

The Crew have gotten some nice wins early on, though, which they can certainly build on. They dominated the Chicago Fire on May 24th on their way to a 2-0 victory. While the Fire and note exactly setting the conference ablaze this season, there is no such things as an easy game in Major League Soccer. Columbus will have to play like they did in this contest to take down some of the better teams in the East.

There are some huge home matchups coming the Crew's way this season, and victories in some of those contests could make or break the team's 2014 campaign. The Crew will definitely look to play up to their potential when Sporting Kansas City visits on July 16th. Sporting Kansas City went all the way last season, taking home the MLS Cup title, so now any team that defeats them will be seen as a contender in the Eastern Conference. The team will also have a tough game coming their way on September 20th when they host the New England Revolution. The Revolution finished with the third-best record in the conference last season and have hit the ground running in 2014. These are just of the bigger matchups still remaining in 2014, and the Crew have some other great games for fans to enjoy in person as well.
