Contact Winter Music Festival
An institution of the North American EDM scene in the making, this years Contact Winter
Music Festival features an unbeatable lineup of electronic music heavy hitters that will be bringing their addictive beats,
jams and drops into the BC Place Stadium for the best two nights of music Canada has experienced this year. The event's all
star lineup will feature top billing for two of the most established EDM artists in the world - Armin van Buuren and Zedd
- as well as a slew of hard hitting supporting acts that are looking to redefine the electronic music scene in their image.
van Buuren is a veritable icon upon the electronic DJing scene, an EDM legend that has been blowing up the global music scene
for nearly two decades. Hailing from the Netherlands, his musical career would kick off with the track "Blue Fear", starting
the AVB music phenomenon that began to spread like wildfire throughout much of Europe. The track would pass the true litmus
test of any European DJ, becoming a hallmark hit in the club and party nightlife mecca of Ibiza, Spain. He would continue
to hone his craft throughout the 90s, eventually spilling over into the lucrative UK music market in 1999. Inevitably, his
sound spilled into North America as he headed to every major city the continent had to offer, from a residency in Washington
D.C. to Los Angeles, New York City, Austin, San Francisco, Montreal, Seattle, and more. By 2007, Armin scooped the position
as the best DJ in the world from DJ Mag, a position he has held on to ever since in various different iterations as he continues
to blow musical minds all across the globe. Armin has produced countless worldwide hit singles, building up an unbeatable
discography of hit tracks that include "Waiting for the Night", "This Is What It Feels Like", and "Intense" from his 2013
album Intense; "Not Giving Up on Love" and "Drowning" from his 2010 release Mirage; the #5 charting "Going Wrong" and "In
and Out of Love" from 2008's Imagine; "Serenity" from his 2005 work Shivers; and many, many more.
Russian German DJ
virtuoso Zedd has been an institution on the world music scene since 2009. A born musician who picked up his first instrument
at the age of four, it wouldn't be long before Zedd's voracious musical appetite would find him consuming the beats and jams
of legendary french electro duo Justice. He would immediately jump into the EDM game, producing both original works and remixes,
and picking up back to back wins at the famed Beatport remix competitions. His first cracks at remixes would be of legend
in the field and part time dial up modem Skrillex, with Zedd remixing his hit single "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites", and
he would soon be dabbling with the works of musicians in all fields, from The Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga to Justin Bieber.
To date, Zedd has produced an endless list of hits, with his 2012 full length release Clarity ushering in a new era of Zedd
sound, with the hits "Clarity", "Spectrum", and "Stay the Night". Venturing into other mediums, Zedd also recorded the track
"Find You", exclusively for the soundtrack to the 2014 film Divergent.
