Written by Barry Manilow, Copacabana is based on the song of the same name that first emerged as a made-for TV film written
by James Lipton for CBS. Eventually the show was developed for the stage at Caesars Circus Maximus Theatre in Atlantic City,
running from 1990 to 1991 with 20 cast members, all directed by Manilow. In 1994 the one-hour show was made into a full
length musical.
