Cory Morrow Background
should come as no surprise that this Red Dirt icon was born and raised in Texas, as he has since become one of Texas' favorite
country stars thanks to his incessant gigging around the Lone Star state. Morrow's musical journey began when he was 15 years
old, when his stepfather won a guitar in a coin toss. Morrow began to practice the guitar, immediately falling in love with
its soulful county twang, and he quickly became an incredibly skilled musician. During this time, Morrow also started to write
his own songs, and while he was inspired by hard rock acts like Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top, he would eventually start to find
inspiration in country music.
While attending Texas Tech University, Morrow discovered other Texas singer-songwriters,
such as Ray Wylie and Robert Earl Keen, and his personal musical style started to transform into a more rootsy country sound.
So in 1993, Morrow decided that he was going to test his luck in the music world and set out for Austin, where he hoped to
make his country music dreams come true. While most country artists move to Nashville to pursue international stardom, Morrow
stuck with his Lone Star roots and became a major force in the Texas music scene. He started releasing his own self-produced
albums, making him one of the most popular independent country artists in the business. His relentless touring throughout
the Southwest earned Morrow a large and incredibly devoted fan base, and before he knew it, Morrow had earned the reputation
for being one of the best live acts in Texas country music!
In 2002, Soundscan ranked Morrow number seven on their list
of "country debut artists" of the year, and since then he has grown into a well-known country music star. While Morrow could
have easily rocketed to international fame if he had moved to Nashville instead of Austin, Morrow instead decided to stick
to his roots and play true, authentic music, which is why so many country fans adore him. Now you have an incredible opportunity
to see this Lone Star legend in concert at one of his fall shows, so don't miss out and grab your tickets on StubHub today!
Cory Morrow has relied on very few people to attain his own stardom and success, as he has independently
released and produced most of his own work. Morrow has released 14 studio albums, live albums, and EPs, including many charting
albums, such as Songs We Wish We'd Written (2001), Outside the Lines (2002), Nothing Left to Hide (2005), and Vagrants and
