Cosmic Gate is a German trance duo comprised of members Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems. Formed in 1999, Cosmic Gate's first single was "Exploration of Space", followed by "The Drums", "Mental Atmosphere" and a "Somewhere over the Rainbow" remix using samples from the film, "The Wizard of Oz". It wasn't until 2001, however, that Cosmic Gate achieved commercial success when their single, "Fire Wire" was released in the UK. In recent years, Cosmic Gate's music has shifted from a harder edge trance sound to a more subtly driving sound. Today, this talented trance music twosome has made a name for themselves, both abroad and in the US. In 2009, they even placed #19 on DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ Poll, and fan following keeps growing.
