2015 Cotton Bowl

Played at the world famous AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, right in the heart of football country, the Cotton Bowl is one of the most followed sporting events each and every year, and you can bank on there being an absolutely unbelievable atmosphere come kickoff. We know it's tempting to just watch from home, but this is a game that will have more excitement than you'll know what to do with as two of the very best teams in the nation clash on the gridiron for all the marbles. Once you're there in the middle of an exciting game that can go either way, you'll understand loud and clear what big boy college football is all about.

The Cotton Bowl is the destination of talented teams from the SEC and the Big 12, two conferences that have a reputation of being the best of the best when it comes to college athletics. When you're alongside tens of thousands of passionate fans that pour into the stands, you'll be glad that you're not sitting at home watching on that disappointing little flatscreen, as this is a sporting event that is sure to live up to the expectations thanks to the passion of the fans and the talent-level down below. With the game on the line and your favorite team just a play away from a big win, you'll definitely be glad that you're not anywhere else.

Game Info

Bringing together some of the top teams in the nation is usually a recipe for a great game, and that's what tends to happen when two of the top squads from the SEC/Big 12 hit the gridiron to battle it out. Recent teams to have success in the Cotton Bowl include 2014 winner Missouri, Mississippi, Texas A&M, LSU and Arkansas – a group that represents some of the best programs currently in college football. You never know what can happen these guys take the field, providing plenty of incentive to head out and make sure that you don't miss a snap of the action as two teams loaded with playmakers hit the field looking to put on a show and bring home a win for their school.

The NCAA Football Experience

Professional sports are obviously great, but there is something special about watching some of the best amateur athletes in the country battle it out on the gridiron. Football has become the most popular sport in the U.S. for a reason, and it definitely isn't because there is a lack of hard-hitting excitement from matchup to matchup – particularly when it comes to a prominent game like the yearly Cotton Bowl. The Cotton Bowl is known for having one of the best atmospheres that you're going to find for spectator sports, though you're not really going to get the full experience if you're thinking about just staying home and catching the game from your living room. Be there for all of the hard-hitting college football action, from highlight reel runs and eye-popping catches to clutch throws that will have you jumping out of your seat in no time as the Cotton Bowl gets underway once again this January.

Cotton Bowl History

The Cotton Bowl Classic is one of the oldest bowls in all of NCAA football, as it was first founded by J. Curtis Stanford and held in 1937, with TCU defeating Marquette. Since then, the Cotton Bowl Classic has remained a top attraction in college football, and recent years have seen teams from the SEC take some big victories. For decades, the Cotton Bowl Classic took place at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, though in 2014 the game was first held AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, just outside of Dallas. This is a bowl game that has celebrated the very best of the best when it comes to college football for a very long time at this point, helping make it a staple of the bowl circuit and one of the most anticipated college sporting events of the year.

And to look at some of the players who have dominated here is to see some of the top players in college football all in one place. Players like Johnny Manziel, Dexter McCluster, Eli Manning, Roy Williams, Ricky Williams and many more superstars have brought home the MVP, and you never know who is going to be the next legend to burst onto the scene and dominate the Cotton Bowl. With a great crowd at your side, a legacy of great football and two of the top teams in the nation down below, it just doesn't get any better than this if you're looking for football at the highest level.

Cotton Bowl Trivia

Did you know that Texas holds the record for most appearances in the Cotton Bowl?

With 22 overall appearances, the Texas Longhorns have long been a staple of the Cotton Bowl. Playing in the Big 12, the Longhorns have long been a dominant college football program and routinely have been in the rankings, with 11 different seasons ending in big wins at the Cotton Bowl. Other teams that have had many appearances include Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Arkansas, though no other team has been able to match the overall success of the Longhorns so far.

Cotton Bowl Fans

Though we all know the pros are great to watch too, there is something extra special about watching two programs when it's only school pride that's on the line, but you're way off if you think you're going to understand that sitting at home listening to the sportscaster's rendition of what the atmosphere of the big game. As soon are you're there at AT&T Stadium with two talented teams about to square off, you'll see first-hand that there is absolutely no substitution to watching college football live and in person, as you'll end up with an experience that you will probably be talking about long after the final play. Not only is AT&T Stadium one of the best places in the world for a spectator sport but you're not going to find an atmosphere filled with more passion or excitement, providing the perfect backdrop for one of the biggest college football games of the year.
