Country and Folk music are similar types of music, but are also very different. Country music has a Nashville sound, bluegrass sound, honky tonk and Western swing sound. It produced two of the top selling solo artists of all time, Elvis Presley, who later went on to help define rock and roll and Garth Brooks. Folk music is considered traditional music and some of the popular musicians that emerged from this genre include: Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.
Both country music and folk music provide great sounds to dance to and are especially popular in the southern parts of the United States.
