Nashville-born, Detroit raised singer/songwriter/musician/producer Kem Owens struggled after high school. He worked hard to self-release his debut album, Kemistry, which eventually got picked up by the infamous R&B record label Motown, and eventually made it to the Top 20 on the Hip-Hop/R&B charts. His sophomore effort appeared in 2005, called Album II.
