This group formed in 2008 as Stand By Me, impressing the judges on national television music program disBAND and soon after changing their name. If you haven't heard their music on the radio yet, get ready—you'll be hearing a lot of them!
Stereos started out as a group of pop singers from Edmonton, Alberta, who had a dream of making it big. When they finally traveled to Toronto to perform on disBAND, it seemed like their whole world had changed. Appropriately enough, they took on a new name to reflect that, choosing "Turn It Up" to replace their original name, "Stand By Me." They soon after changed their name again, to Stereos.
