Cullen Performance Hall History
Cullen Performance Hall, located on the University of Houston campus was built
in 1948 along with the Ezekiel W. Cullen Building and both were meant to be part of a big expansion to the permanent buildings
on campus. The dedication of the hall to Ezekiel Cullen took place on Halloween in 1950. The hall was designed by Alfred C.
Finn, a Houston architect, who aimed to give the hall a classic look by adding strategically placed pilasters and long wings.
The goal of the hall was to host music performances similar to those put on at Houston Music Hall, which at the time was the
only other music venue in the city.

As the fourth largest city in the United States you can be sure
that there is always something to do in Houston. If you happen to be in the area between February and March you would be remiss
to not check out the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo which takes place over twenty days and is the largest rodeo and livestock
show in the entire world. Other much loved annual traditions are the Houston Greek Festival, the Houston Auto Show, the Art
Car Parade, and the Bayou City Art Festival which is well known across the country as one of the five best art shows in the
United States. Of course, Houston also has several professional sports teams who offer thrilling games depending on what time
of year you are visiting. An MLB game featuring the Houston Astros is a great way to spend a Spring or Summer afternoon, and
a Houston Texans NFL game is filled with hard hitting action while the back and forth action of a game with the NBA's Houston
Rockets is always thrilling.
