        In the 1980s Dan Zanes was part of the popular band the Del Fuegos, a group he started with Tom Lloyd, a friend he met at his college cafeteria. The Del Fuegos achieved a significant level of popularity while they were producing music, but broke up and went their separate ways in 1989. Zanes got married and had a child, but he didn’t settle down in the traditional sense, instead starting to play music with Dan Zanes and Friends.
