DATSIK is the stage name of Troy Beetles from Kelowna in British Columbia who began making electronic music
after being inspired by the music of Excision who he saw in 2008. He approached Excision and was able to make some music with
him in 2008 and 2009. DATSIK had grown up a fan of hardcore hip hop, especially of Wu Tang Clan and the beats created by RZA.
It did not take long for DATSIK to make a name for himself and by 2009 he had several number one hits through the online electronic
music store Beatport. After making a name for himself and his dark and robotic sounding brand of dubstep, DATSIK released
his debut album, Vitamin D in 2012. The same year he founded Firepower Records and since then he has signed AFK, Twofold,
Delta Heavy, Getter, Terravita, xKore, DKS, Bare Noize, Sub Antix, Rekoil, and the Frim. To date DATSIK has released six studio
recordings and EPs: Against the Machines, Nuek 'Em, Texx Mars, Vitamin D, Cold Blooded, and Let It Burn. He has been invited
to play some of the top venues, clubs, and parties all over the world as well as the biggest music festivals like Coachella,
EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Zoo, Stereosonic, Identity, and others.
releasing his debut full length in 2012 DATSIK was able to achieve more mainstream success. He had spent years as an underground
sensation who was primarily only well known in the EDM community but after releasing a well-received full length debut on
Dim Mak Records DATSIK was ready to achieve cross-over notoriety. Guest appearances by Z-Trip, Downlink, Infected Mushroom,
Messinian, Jonathan Davis, and Snak the Ripper opened DATSIK up to a whole new audience. He further gained popularity by making
remixes of major artists like MGMT, Coldplay, Method Man, Pretty Lights, Talib Kweli, Lil Wayne, Steve Aoki, The Crystal Method,
Lil John, Dizzee Rascal, and others. These days DATSIK stands a s one of the premiere DJs, remixers, and producers in the
EDM world and is one of the most in demand performers on the scene.
