Dave Alvin was born in Downey, CA in 1955. In the late ‘70s Alvin started the Blasters, a punk rock underground group that saw cult success. In 1986 Alvin left the Blasters to pursue a brief stint with his side project X before turning to a solo career. His solo debut, Romeo’s Escape, was released in 1987. He followed that up with 1989’s Blue Blvd., and 1993’s Museum of Heart. He has continued to record and perform country rock hits throughout the ‘00s.
