South Carolina born, Mississippi raised adult alternative rocker Dave Barnes took a liking to classic soul and blues tunes at an early age, and after graduating from Middle Tennessee State University he moved to Nashville to pursue a music career. Working with Justin Rosolino, Matt Mangano, Ben Shive and Josh Robinson, Barnes released the independent albums Brothers, Bring the Sun and Chasing Mississippi in 2004 and 2006 respectively, and most recently Me and You and the World in 2008.
