Born in Denver in 1934, Dave Grusin started tinkering with tunes at an early age, eventually working for some of the industry's biggest professionals, leading to his prolific career in music. He worked with Benny Goodman for a while, as well as Milt Hinton and Don Lamond as a trio, and he was an assistant musical director for Andy Williams for nearly a decade, ending in 1966.
