California alternative pop group Dawes is made up of brothers Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, Wylie Weber and Alex Gasnoff. The North Hills outfit (a suburb of the City of Angels) found a home and alternative style via the Laurel Canyon sound of Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joni Mitchell and others. They worked with Jonathan Wilson to create their first EP.
Newcomers to the revival of Laurel Canyon, the Dawes aptly named debut "North Hills" was penned following informal jam sessions featuring fellow Canyon thrivers like Bright Eyes, Heartbreakers and Black Crowes.
