Born in Havana, Cuba, Dayramir Gonzalez began studying piano at the age of eight and participated in different festivals
and contests at the elementary school level. Through hard work, he was accepted into the National School of Music for his
high school studies. There, he also participated in many important festivals that included masters of Cuban music, Joaquin
Betancourt, Emilio Vega and others. His passion for sharing the best of Cuban music continues today through his work with
Habana Entrance.
Dayramir has been working as a professional musician since the age of 16, and his years of growing as a piano player and
musical arranger are clearly visible in his layered, nuanced and fresh music. As the first Cuban national to attend the prestigious
Berklee School of Music and receive a full scholarship, his pedigree is above reproach. The future is wide open for this gifted
musician, and critics and audiences are chomping at the bit to see what he'll do next.
Havana-born pianist Dayramir Gonzalez has been a member of master percussionist Oscar Valdes's Diakara jazz band and was
the winner of Cuba's prestigious JoJazz competition in 2005. He has performed at the Havana Jazz Festival and at festivals
