DC United Schedule in 2014
DC United is ready to show that they're one of the best teams in Major League Soccer
as they face off with some of the toughest opponents in the league. United plays in the Eastern Conference of the league,
and the East has some of the best teams you'll find in North American soccer. United had a tough season in 2013, but the team
is off to a great start in 2014. DC United is hoping to sustain their high level of play this season so they can make the

DC United made history with the
Major League Soccer upon the inception of the MLS in 1996, becoming one of the original ten charter teams to play major league
soccer in the United States. United was one of the dominant teams in the MLS from the get-go, winning the first-ever MLS Cup
in 1996 and posting a repeat performance in 1997. United also won the MLS Cup in 1999 and 2004, and has taken home the Supporters'
Shield in 1997, 1999, 2006 and 2007. United also has a heavy international presence, competing in the CONCACAF Champions'
Cup and CONCACAF Champions League in the 90s and even winning the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1998. The United play home games
at the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington DC, a stadium which boasts a capacity of 45,596 and fills up seats
to that number whenever United plays big time rivals like the New York Red Bulls at home. DC United has taken home several
MLS Eastern Conference championship titles over the years, including regular season conference championships in 1997, 1998,
1999, 2006 and 2007, as well as playoff titles in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2004.

United and the nearby New York Red Bulls. Both charter teams of the original MLS that joined the league with its inception
in 1996, the Red Bulls and United have had several chances to face each other on the turf. The two teams vie for the annual
Atlantic Cup, which is always a game that the fans turn out for in big numbers. United has also been a big rival of the Philadelphia
Union ever since the Union's MLS debut in 2010, and these two teams offer soccer fans some of the most anticipated athletic
entertainment in the Eastern Conference of the MLS on a yearly basis. Outside of the Major League Soccer, DC United has also
struck up a rivalry with the Charleston Battery of the United Soccer Leagues, and these two soccer teams play each other every
year for bragging rights in the Coffee Pot Cup.
