Deborah Joy Voigt crew up in Orange Country where she studied music and theatre in high school, after which she attended
CSU Fullerton and San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program. She found her breakout role in 1991 performing Ariadne at
Boston Lyric Opera and since undergoing gastric bypass surgery has retained the leading role at the Royal Opera House that
first gained her praise.
