Del Mar Fairgrounds History
The Del Mar Fairgrounds is a venue located in Del Mar, CA that is located on the property
of the Del Mar Racetrack. The racetrack there was built in the late 1930s by the famous crooner Bing Crosby, with the help
of Pat O'Brien, and Paramount Studios. The Fairgrounds is the site of the annual San Diego County Fair, which is a huge attraction
for visitors. The racetrack itself sees loads of visitors as well, as folks always like to see the ponies. Over the years
this venue has also seen some top performers hit the stage. This venue hosts some big names in the music biz each and every

will hit the stage at the Fairgrounds in June. You may know Rucker as the leader singer of the group Hootie and the Blowfish.
While his sound does not mimic that of his former group, he has carved out a nice solo niche. In July this venue will see
REO Speedwagon come to the Fairgrounds to play for their adoring fans. Those are just acts ready to perform this summer, so

north of the city of San Diego. The motto of Del Mar is "where the surf meets the turf." This alludes to the fact that the
