Denver Broncos Schedule in 2014

The Denver Broncos are ready to hit the field and rack up the wins yet again in 2014. This team is coming off a 2013 season in which they had one of the best offenses in the history of the National Football League. The Broncos rode that offensive output all the way to an AFC Title, but the team fell short in the Super Bowl. The Broncos are back and ready to rectify that Super Bowl loss by returning to the big game and capturing the Vince Lombardi Trophy. To so do they're going to have to play well in a number of big matchups at home this season.

Denver will most definitely be looking forward to October 19th when they host the San Francisco 49ers. The Broncos and 49ers play in different conferences, so they don't get to play one another often. The fans will be pouring into the stadium to see what could potentially be a Super Bowl preview, and you can be there too to see if Peyton Manning can shred one of the better defenses in the NFL.

Another big matchup will come the Broncos way on October 23rd when the San Diego Chargers take the field at Sports Authority Field. The Chargers and Broncos have a great rivalry that stems from them both playing in the AFC West. The stands are sure to be packed to the brim for this one.

Denver Broncos Team Info

The Denver Broncos were so close to reaching their goal of winning the Super Bowl last season, making it all the way to the big game before falling just shy. The team will be back in 2014 ready to take on the challenge once again, and they'll have some new faces to help them rack up the victories. The Broncos added Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby to the mix to try and shore up a secondary that struggled last season. They signed free agent corner Aqib Talib in the offseason as well, but the team needed depth as well, which Roby should provide. The team may have gotten a steal in the second round when they landed Indiana wide receiver Cody Lattimer at the 55th pick. Lattimer could help fill the void that the departure of Eric Decker could leave in this prolific offense.

Everyone knows that this is the team to beat in the AFC, as Peyton Manning has led this team to two playoff appearances in two years as they look to get back to the top of the league. The Broncos had a rough go of it in the Super Bowl, of course, but this is clearly still one of the teams to beat in the league, with a world-class offense and a defense that definitely knows a thing or two about getting after the quarterback. With guys like Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker making it hard on the defense and one of the best linebacking crews in the league, this is a team that can do a little bit of everything, giving fans plenty of reasons to ditch the couch and head out to get right in the heart of the action once again this season. With plenty of explosive playmakers and aspirations of bringing home the big one, this is a team you definitely don't want to sleep no this season.

Denver Broncos Trivia

Did you know that the Denver Broncos did not actually draft former quarterback and current general manager John Elway?

That's right; the then-Baltimore Colts selected Elway with the first pick in the 1983 NFL Draft, which included a standout quarterback class. Elway did not want to play for the Colts, so he was moved to Denver without ever playing a down for Baltimore. Elway would go on to win two Super Bowls with the Broncos and go down as one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the National Football League.

Denver Broncos History

The Denver Broncos first got their start in pro football in 1960, when they began playing in the AFL. After the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, the Broncos joined the NFL's AFC West division, and have been an on-and-off dominant team since then. The Broncos have two Super Bowl titles under their belt, in 1997 and again in 1998. This incredible feat is one that still remains one of the high points of the Broncos' history, starting in '97, when the dynamic foursome of John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Terrell Davis and Gary Zimmerman led the charge for the Broncos as they made championship history for the first time. These days, the Broncos are in another amazing era of football with Peyton Manning under the helm, giving you plenty of opportunities to come out and see football played at its highest level.
