Detroit Pistons Road Schedule in 2013-14

The Detroit Pistons are ready to rev their engines and travel all over the continent in search of victories against some of the best teams in the National Basketball Association. The Pistons have a roster filled with talent, one the features a nice mix of veterans and young players. The Pistons have their sights set on the playoffs this season, and they look to have the kind of talent needed to reach the postseason. Winning on the road is crucial to netting a good enough record to make the postseason, and Detroit knows this. That's why they're going to be giving it everything they've got each and every time they hit the court away from the Palace of Auburn Hills this season.

One team that will pose a serious challenge for the Pistons is the Indiana Pacers, the club that took home the Central Division title last season. Indiana is one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, and viewed as a legitimate NBA Championship contender. If the Pistons can go into Indianapolis and leave with some victories this season, it will be a huge confidence boost for this group as well as something that could shake up the standings in the division. The Pistons will take on the Pacers and other tough opponents all throughout the season on the road in 2013-14.

Detroit Pistons Team Info

The Detroit Pistons play in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference, where their foes are the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks. The Pistons were very active this offseason, landing two players that should make significant impact in the club's 2013-14 season. The team went out and signed one of the top free agents on the market in Josh Smith, a veteran forward that makes plays on both ends of the court. While Smith is not a star player, he is a reliable vet that can give the team some real highlight offensive plays as well as a fantastic defensive presence. The team is going to see how they can fit Smith into a frontcourt rotation that already features youngsters Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond, both of whom have shown significant promise. The Pistons figure that they can play all three players together at times, as Smith has some experience at the small forward position throughout his career. The team landed their second big acquisition of the offseason via trade, when they dealt former lottery pick Brandon Knight to the Milwaukee Bucks in a sign-and-trade deal that landed them point guard Brandon Jennings. Jennings has always had immense talent, and the Pistons are looking to harness that talent and turn the former Oak Hill Academy star into the pure passer that he is capable of being. The Pistons are also looking for a big jump from Drummond, one of the most athletically gifted big men in the National Basketball Association. Drummond is coming off a promising 2012-13, and many experts see him developing into one of the best centers in the league, at least on the defensive end. The Pistons are hoping to contend for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference this season, and they know it's going to take some big wins on the road to accomplish that goal.
