Detroit Tigers Schedule

Detroit Tigers Schedule - Tigers Schedule

2014 Detroit Tigers Schedule

A team that doesn't need much of an introduction is the Detroit Tigers, as they tend to have a team loaded with big-time bashers and electrifying hurlers known for shutting down opposing lineups with ease. Come out and see the Tigers this season and you'll likely be treated to plenty of towering homers, spectacular catches and nail-biting moments that have become standard operating procedure over the years for the Tigers. From home games against prominent division rivals to away games against interleague opponents the Tigers don't often get to play, the schedule is loaded with possibilities as the Tigers look to get right back to the top of the A.L. Central.

Thanks to a roster loaded with some of the brightest stars of today, not to mention a few of the stars of tomorrow, the Tigers have one of those teams you always have to keep your eye on because they always seem to be one win away from going on a big-time winning streak. Once you're there watching the big game the way it was meant to be seen, whether at home or on the road, you'll be glad that you're not still sitting at home when you could be in the stands with thousands of your fellow fans.

The Experience

Even though there are plenty of ways to experience baseball these days, there is still no comparing it with the live experience, though you're not going to figure out sitting at home watching on that disappointing little flatscreen. Road games bring a whole different vibe, and it will have you headed right back for some more away Tigers baseball much sooner than later. With rising stars looking to make a name for themselves and talented vets getting ready for another season, it's always a good time to head out and see the Tigers in action as they hope to round into form and take a swing at their World Series dreams.

The Team

MLB tickets to see the Detroit Tigers first went on sale in 1969, giving the Tigers a long history littered with great players and teams. During the 1980s the Tigers were hot, adding multiple division titles, two A.L. Pennants and one World Championship to their list of achievements. These days, the Tigers have a squad filled with players who can do a little bit of everything, with superstar slugger Miguel Cabrera and hurler Justin Verlander and leading the way on the diamond and giving them a chance to win every time out. But it's not only about the superstars, however, as the Tigers have a scrappy team filled with players who can get the job done, making one of the most well-rounded teams in all of Major League Baseball.

Detroit Tigers Trivia

Did you know that Miguel Cabrera has drove in at least 100 runs each of his 10 full seasons playing in the big leagues?

Cabrera has been nothing short of unbelievable already in his brilliant career, with him making a big splash in the postseason in his rookie season with the Marlins and then taking his game to a whole different level since coming over to the Tigers. With Detroit, Cabrera has been arguably the most feared hitter in all of Major League Baseball, even pulling down the first Triple Crown win (2012) since the 1960s – an honor many thought would never happen ever again.

Detroit Tigers History

Since 1901, the Detroit Tigers have done quite a bit to establish themselves as a seminal part of the Detroit sports scene, culminating in a World Series title in 1984 that fans are still talking about to this day. These days, the roster has changed a bit, but they once again have a team absolutely popping with great players that can turn a game on a dime, making it a great idea to get out and show your support for an important road game this season. In 2006 Detroit won the A.L. Pennant and came close to taking down yet another World Series title, and they got back to the last couple of Fall Classics as well. As the Tigers continue to build towards a championship, there has never been a better time to come out and see what all the buzz is about surrounding one of the most talented teams in all of Major League Baseball.

The Fans

No matter how many different ways there are to follow the action, there is no substitute for watching the drama unfold first-hand, as you're treated to a different level of connection with the action down on the field that you just can't conjure up from home. With the Tigers looking to pile up the wins and deliver another memorable season, each game is an opportunity for Tigers fans, and you can count on there being plenty of passionate fans whether the Tigers are digging in at home or on the road.
