Detroit Tigers Spring Training Tickets

Detroit Tigers Spring Training tickets - Tigers Spring Training Schedule

2015 Detroit Tigers Spring Training Schedule

The Tigers have routinely been one of the very best teams in the league over the last few seasons, which is exactly what they're looking to do once again this season as they hope to pull together and dominate their American League rivals all season long. Though it's not easy with the up-and-coming Royals alongside the Indians, Twins and White Sox, the Tigers have all kinds of star power and their eyes on putting together another run towards the playoffs. You definitely don't have to wait until the regular season gets rolling, however, as Tigers' fans always head down to Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida to be a part of the action once the Grapefruit League starts playing ball.

Just one look at the schedule for the Tigers and you'll see what all the buzz is about, as this is a team that routinely plays the best of the best in the month leading up to the start of the regular season. From veterans trying to add to their game to rising stars looking to make a name for themselves, spring training is just one of those things that every baseball fan needs to see first-hand sooner or later. Throughout spring training, Tigers' fans will be treated to all different types of great matchups, both against traditional divisional rivals and against cross-league teams that the Tigers don't always get to play during the regular season.

During the regular year, the Tigers play their home games at Comerica Park, one of the top spots in the league, but Joker Marchant Stadium tends to be the perfect backdrop to come spring time. It's there where the Tigers' fanfare reaches its apex long before opening day, which is why it's such a great draw every single season as fans from all over come to Lakeland looking to be a part of the excitement. Get out and see a game loaded with stars that know a thing or two about putting on a show in another spring training that will have fans gripping the edges of their seats from the get-go.

Detroit Tigers Team Info

This is a team that has so much star power that the lineup pretty much speaks for itself. Triple Crown Winner and multiple MVP Miguel Cabrera remains one of the most feared hitters in the game and Victor Martinez is coming off of an absolutely unbelievable 2014 campaign, which gives the Tigers arguably the best one-two punch in Major League Baseball. Also in the mix are Cy Young Award Winners Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander and veteran Torii Hunter, which gives them a deep team that can win in a variety of different ways. In the spring, you'll get a chance to see the more prominent stars but also the relative unknowns looking to make a name for themselves, which is part of the reason that spring training has a reputation of being an intriguing sneak preview that every fan needs to be a part of sooner or later.

Add it all up and spring training is a family-friendly experience loaded with opportunities to see your favorite team from a completely different level, not to mention the place to be as fans look to see if the Tigers have what it takes this season.

Detroit Tigers History

The Detroit Tigers are one of the oldest franchises in the history of Major League Baseball, dating all the way back to 1894. The Tigers have had some great seasons over the years, and they've experienced some great success over the course of their history. The Tigers have won the American League pennant 11 times, which means they've appeared in the World Series each of those years. Detroit has won four World Championships, and are always looking to add to that total. Over the years, all-time greats like Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, Al Kaline and many more have dominated for the Tigers, though the current roster is also filled with some of the top players in franchise history. Add it all up and the Tigers remain one of the most followed teams in the league, which is exactly what you're going to see every time they hit the diamond during spring training this year.

Detroit Tigers Trivia

Do you know who holds the franchise record for highest OPS in a season?

Though you might expect it to be Miguel Cabrera or maybe Hank Greenberg, the answer is actually Norm Cash, who racked up an eye-popping 1.148 OPS back in 1961. A dominant power-hitting first baseman, Cash would end up making the All-Star squad multiple times for the Tigers and was even named the A.L. Comeback Player of the Year twice, in both 1965 and in 1971.
