Diplo is a giant in the mash-up scene - and he should be. The mix-master's full artist name is Diplodocus, one of the biggest dinosaurs ever. When it comes to creating mash-ups, Diplo is one of the best. While working in the Philadelphia scene, he began releasing mixtapes, and eventually issued his debut LP, Florida. His Piracy Funds Terrorism mixtape, which ushered M.I.A. into the world, made waves in 2004.
The great thing about mash-up music is that there are very few rules. It's all about taking all the different music you like and recombining it into something new, fresh and exciting.
