About DJ Hardwell

Robbert van de Corput, born in Breda, Netherlands in 1988, can easily be credited for helping to birth the craze for electronic dance music that began in 2012. Van de Corput would morph into DJ Hardwell at the tender age of twelve, when he began to practice his mixing skills, and would have a record deal by the age of thirteen. He would begin to play in clubs around the Netherlands by age fourteen, but required a parental chaperone because he was underage. Hardwell would have been inspired by the huge and heavy dance parties that MTV would show when he was in his teens. After learning how to mix, the teenage Hardwell would make the jump to creating his own productions and remixing.

In 2006, Hardwell would make his debut as a DJ when his remix of "Summer Jam" by the Underdog Project became a club favorite. The following year, Hardwell would be taking on "Lass Uns Tanzen," a track from stadium techno heavyweight Scooter. 2007 would also be a notable year for Harwell for his collaboration with his peer DJ Greatski for the song "Never Knew Love." Two years later, Hardwell would come out with another popular release – a mashup entitled "Show Me Love v. Be" or simply "Show Me Be." Three years later in 2010, DJ Hardwell would release his debut compilation of original mixes – the first volume in his inimitable Hardwell Presents Revealed series. The following year would see a series of breakout tracks including a co-release with the legendary DJ Tiësto for the "Zero 76" single and remixes of tracks from top artists like "Hangover" from Taio Cruz, "Levels" from Avicii, and "Fight Club Is Closed [It's Time For Rock'n'Roll]" from Dada Life.

The year 2012 would see DJ Hardwell recognized for his sterling track record when he would make the Top Ten out of the Top 100 DJs list in DJ Mag. He would also release some notable remixes of work by Rihanna and the Wanted. In 2013 Hardwell would release the trippy track known as "Three Triangles (Losing My Religion)" as well as the fourth amazing volume in his Revealed series. This would also be the year that he would be number one on the Top 100 DJ List in DJ Mag. 2014 would see the release of a fifth Revealed volume.

Previous Hits

DJ Hardwell's 2009 "Show Me Be," a bootleg mashup featuring Laidback Luke and Steve Angello, would be his first big hit on the dance floor. After the release of his debut compilation album Revealed in 2010, Hardwell would come out with major hits like "Zero 76" as well as hit remixes of "Hangover," "Levels," and "Fight Club Is Closed [It's Time For Rock'n'Roll]."

Hardwell's best known hits of 2012 include remixes of "Chasing the Sun" by the Wanted and "Where Have You Been" by Rihanna.

By all accounts, mixing and remixing is something Hardwell was born to do. As a child, Hardwell would enroll in the Rock Academy. After just three months into his studies there, his teachers told him to quit immediately and go straight into a music career.
