Donnie Iris wasn't always known as Donnie Iris. Born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Dominic Ierace had a talent for music from the age of five. He experimented with many instruments, but nothing seemed to click with him as much as singing would. In 1965, he would join The Jaggerz. They released their first album in 1969, but it was their second album that really caught the eye of the musical world. Though The Jaggerz would come to an end in 1976, Iris quickly found residence with the group Wild Cherry. Throughout the 1980s, however, Iris would release his own solo albums and gain a reputation as a truly solid performer.
