Rapper Doug E. Fresh rose to prominence along with the Get Fresh Crew with the smash hit single, "The Show," which was later included as a track on the album, "Oh, My God!" The hip hop song was listed as being one of the top rap singles during the year of its release, and it thrust Doug E. Fresh to new heights in his career. In addition to "The Show," Doug E. Fresh also became a big name on the hip hop scene with the song "La Di Da Di." Both songs are considered to be some of the best classic hip hop songs around, and they have since been sampled on various songs by other artists.

When the album "Oh, My God!" was released, it reached the number 21 position on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and it is now recognized by some critics and fans as being one of the best hip hop albums of all time. In 1988, Doug E. Fresh returned with the release of the album "The World's Greatest Entertainer," which climbed to the number 7 position on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, led by the popular single, "Keep Risin' to the Top." Several years later, Doug E. Fresh released his next album, "Doin' What I Gotta Do," which featured the single, "Bustin Out (On Funk)." In 1995, Doug E.
